The power of "no" - Kathy Varol

The power of “no”

betraying yourself

“No” is a powerful word that isn’t used enough.

It can take so much courage to use it because it’s an invitation for someone to see you more clearly. To see how you’re different from them. To understand what you like and don’t like. To see your boundaries and get a glimpse into who you are.

“No” is a generous gift. It makes us more human, more real, and it lets us be seen.

Betraying yourself to make someone else happy is never the best option.

“No” is also powerful in business.

“No” creates space and frees up energy to focus on the “yeses” that really matter.

It shows your employees and your consumers who your company is, and who it isn’t.
