A month into a new city, still figuring out the rhythm of this new chapter, I got an unexpected invite:
A full moon women’s circle.
At a friend-of-a-friend’s house.
An hour away.
Up winding roads into the hills.
My first response? Hesitation.
The idea of showing up alone, as the outsider in a group of women who already know each other, sparked a familiar flicker of fear.
Will I fit in?
What if it’s awkward?
What if I feel invisible or weird or… too much?
But another voice rose just as quickly.
One that said, “Absolutely yes.”
Because I love witchy things.
I love intention.
I love rooms where people gather to be real.
And I want more nourishing, grounded, luminous friendships in my life.
So I drove.
Each curve in the winding road pulled me deeper into myself, peeling off the noise and deepening my grounding. By the time I parked outside the house, high in the hills, I felt steady. Ready.
It was the host’s first time leading a full moon ceremony, and she showed up like she’d been doing it for years.
Thoughtfully curated space.
Ritual woven with sincerity, not performance.
A clear container that made space for vulnerability, for reflection, for being witnessed and witnessing.
It was an intimate and powerful group.
Each woman brought something sacred: her presence.
We went around the circle, sharing what we wanted to release under the full moon.
The shares were raw. Resonant.
Grief. Self-doubt. Guilt. Control.
Over-giving. Over-functioning. Over-accommodating.
Different words.
Many similar roots.
The patterns we carry silently can feel so personal… until we say them out loud and realize how shared they really are.
As the night deepened, we burned our slips of paper, each bearing our handwriting holding what we were ready to release.
The fire welcomed it all.
Transformed it all.
And the smoke carried it away.
Here’s what I let go of: imbalance.
The habit of giving more than I receive.
The moments I’ve accepted “almost” when I wanted “absolutely yes.”
But I didn’t just burn what I wanted to release, I honored it, too.
Because every outdated behavior taught me something.
Over-giving showed me what fear was lying just below the pattern, driving it.
While settling helped me recognize what feels misaligned.
And now, I want to invite you into a mini full moon ceremony of your own. Right here, right now.
Take a breath.
Slow down.
Ask yourself: What are you ready to release?
What pattern, belief, or habit no longer fits?
What have you learned from it?
And what new energy are you ready to invite in?
Write it down.
If you want to be witnessed, reply to this message and share it with me.
Or keep it for yourself.
And when the time feels right, burn it (safely!).
Let the flame do what it knows how to do:
Transform.
Release.
Clear space for what’s next.
Because what’s next?
It starts with what we’re finally willing to let go of.
P.S. Letting go can be a difficult process. I would be honored to help you identify what’s misaligned in your life and what old behaviors are holding you back that can be surrendered to the fire. Learn more about my coaching here.
